President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has dismissed the Director-General of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), Dr. John Ofori Tenkorang, and appointed Kofi Bosompem Osafo-Maafo as his replacement.
In a letter signed by the Executive Secretary to the President, Nana Bediatuo Asante, Dr. Tenkorang was instructed to hand over his duties to Kofi Bosompem Osafo-Maafo by Monday, April 15.
The termination of Dr. Tenkorang’s appointment was in accordance with paragraph 8 of his appointment letter dated July 1, 2019, issued by the Public Services Commission.
He is set to receive three (3) months’ salary in lieu of notice.
Kofi Bosompem Osafo-Maafo is the son of Senior Minister Osafo Marfo, adding a notable familial connection to his new role as the head of SSNIT.
