Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, National Coordinator of the District Road Improvement Programme, has criticized the explanation offered by Kwabena Adu-Boahene over the controversial GH¢49.1 million, calling it unconvincing and weak.

Speaking on Channel One TV’s *Breakfast Daily*, Vanderpuye questioned the credibility of Adu-Boahene’s defence and expressed concern over the premature release of a public statement before court proceedings, blaming his lawyer, Samuel Atta Akyea, for the strategic misstep.

He argued that the letter, addressed to the National Security Coordinator, contains inconsistencies in timelines and unverifiable claims, including alleged payments to MPs, opposition figures, and a presidential aide.

Vanderpuye added that the nature of such transactions often lacks documentation, making the defence even more difficult to sustain in court.

Although the letter claims the funds were used for sensitive national security operations through two official accounts, the matter has yet to be heard in court and remains under scrutiny.
