‘It was an accident; my son did not carry a gun to kill anybody’ – Salifu Amoako

Bishop Salifu Amoako, a renowned religious leader and father of the 16-year-old boy involved in a tragic accident in East Legon, has urged the public to stop speculating and sensationalizing the event. The accident, which occurred on October 12, 2024, resulted in the deaths of two young girls and has garnered widespread public attention.

Speaking to his congregation at Alive Chapel International on Sunday, October 20, Bishop Amoako emphasized that the incident was not a premeditated act but an unfortunate accident. He expressed frustration with the intense public scrutiny, explaining that his son did not commit murder but was involved in an unforeseen and tragic event.

The bishop called on Ghanaians to approach the situation with empathy and allow the legal process to proceed without premature judgments. He also suggested that the heightened attention was due to his social status, arguing that the incident would not have attracted the same level of attention if it had involved someone less prominent.

Bishop Amoako concluded by asking the public to “keep quiet” and let the legal system and God’s will unfold, reminding everyone that accidents, though devastating, are not crimes.
