22-Year-Old Man Stabbed While Separating a Fight at Akwambo Festival

A 22-year-old man, identified as Nana Yaw, is currently in critical condition at Agona Swedru Government Hospital after being stabbed multiple times by an ex-convict known as Yaw Nyarko, or “Soldier.” The violent incident occurred around 1:00 AM on September 30, 2024, during the Akwambo Festival at Lower Bobikuma.

According to the victim’s brother, Prince Quansah, the stabbing took place when Nana Yaw attempted to separate a fight between Nyarko and another individual. In a fit of rage, Nyarko pulled out a knife and pursued Nana Yaw, stabbing him seven times as he tried to flee.

As of now, Nyarko remains at large, prompting concern from the victim’s family. Nana Yaw’s sister, Mary Odoom, has called on the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, to take action and ensure that Nyarko is apprehended and brought to justice. Mary noted that this is the fourth time Nyarko, a three-time ex-convict, has injured innocent individuals during such altercations.
