The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has made a significant contribution to the Ghana School of Law by donating a state-of-the-art public address system. This donation fulfills a personal promise he made in February during the school’s matriculation ceremony for newly admitted students into the two-year professional law degree program.
Speaker Bagbin highlighted the dire state of the school’s infrastructure and expressed his disappointment that successive governments have not adequately addressed these needs. He emphasized the importance of the school in producing top legal professionals who contribute significantly to national development.
In his remarks, Speaker Bagbin urged alumni to support their alma mater in any way possible, underscoring the collective responsibility of former students in improving the institution’s facilities.
Barima Yaw Kodei Oppong, the Director of the Ghana School of Law, led a delegation of the school’s management to formally receive the donation. He expressed profound gratitude to the Speaker, noting that the new public address system will significantly enhance the auditory quality in lecture halls and during important events, thereby improving the overall standard of education at the school.
The public address system includes advanced speakers and an integrated control system designed to improve sound quality and facilitate better communication during lectures and events.
This donation is part of Speaker Bagbin’s broader initiative to support educational institutions across Ghana. Over the past year, he has made several contributions to various schools and institutions of higher learning, reflecting his strong belief in the transformative power of education.
