Ama Governor Has Been Denied A Call to The Bar For The Second Time

Ama Governor, also known professionally as Alorm Ababio, has once again faced a setback in her pursuit of becoming a lawyer, as her application to be called to the Bar has been rejected by the General Legal Council. This decision was made just two days before her scheduled call on Friday, October 20th.

The General Legal Council has cited “accounts of elements in public conduct prior to the application” as the reason behind this latest denial. One can’t help but wonder if the video she made during the Occupy Julorbi House protest might be a contributing factor.

This is not the first time Ama Governor has faced such obstacles. In 2022, her application was denied on the grounds that her dressing was deemed indecent, and questions were raised about her conduct. However, she did manage to overcome these challenges and was successfully called to the bar in September 2023. Nevertheless, her legal journey has taken a sudden turn, as a recent communique from the Ghana Bar Association confirms that she has been denied once again.

The reasons behind this latest rejection remain the subject of speculation, leaving Ama Governor’s legal aspirations in limbo.
