41st Farmers’ Day: 82-Year-Old Abraham Kwaku Edusei Crowned 2025 Overall Best Farmer

Eighty-two-year-old agriculturist Abraham Kwaku Edusei from Kwahu Afram Plains has been named the 2025 National Best Farmer, earning nationwide admiration for his lifelong dedication to Ghana’s agricultural sector.

Mr. Edusei, widely respected as “Senior Farmer,” has spent more than 60 years cultivating cocoa, cassava, plantain, maize, vegetables, and managing livestock. His integrated farming model and consistent productivity made him stand out at the 41st Farmers’ Day celebration.

After receiving the award, he expressed gratitude and encouraged Ghanaian youth to see agriculture as a profitable and fulfilling career. He also appealed to government to address pressing challenges faced by farmers across the country.
