The Central East Regional Police Command has arrested 33 suspects following a series of intelligence-led anti-crime operations conducted across the region ahead of the Christmas festivities.
The early morning swoops, carried out on December 16 and 17, 2025, targeted identified crime-prone areas, including Kasoa Old Market, Awutu Breku, Gomoa Buduata, Senya Breku, and nearby communities.

According to the Police Command, the operations form part of a broader strategy to clamp down on criminal activity before, during, and after the festive season to ensure public safety.
During the exercise, officers retrieved substances suspected to be Indian hemp, quantities of Tramadol, and a toy gun. In addition, 45 motorbikes were impounded as police conducted verification and documentation checks.
The suspects are currently undergoing screening while investigations continue. Those found culpable will be arraigned before the courts.
The Police Command advised residents to take personal security precautions during the festive season, including avoiding carrying large sums of money, moving in groups at night, wearing helmets while riding motorbikes, avoiding drunk driving, and staying away from isolated areas.
The Command also commended traditional authorities, community leaders, and residents for their cooperation and praised officers involved in the operations for their professionalism. It assured the public of its commitment to maintaining a crime-free festive season and warned that criminal acts will be met with swift legal action.
